Heather  painting in oils Day 2 morning
Elena's birthday Feliz Cumpleanos!- with a surprise visit from her sister and daughter.
Here Tom's leading with an oil demo - watching are Mimi, Yvonne Suzy, and Jacky and a tourist! Lots of fun today applying what we worked on in the studio yesterday, color mixing and that pesky perspective stuff! More tomorrow from  Calle Montes de Oca, sorry I didn't get everyone in the pics today.

Monday plein air Feb 17th 2014 Hospicio and Barranca Fountain

The San Juan de Dios church in the background Barb and Rebecca foreground. Everyone seeking the shade, sunny and around 84 F.  :)
Group photo from Monday's plein air at San Juan de Dios Church. We had a great afternoon with perfect weather! What fun. Here is George and Cindy in the back Sandra , moi and Rebecca.
On Monday  Feb 17th, we'll meet near the old fountain at the top of Hospicio and Barranca. 2 pm.   a good corner with lots of subject matter. The old fountain is of course a great challenge. The folks selling soil usually let their burros stop here for a drink.

Barranca Fountain with Burrow!

"Near the Market" watercolor 5" x 7" This a scene from down near the San Juan de Dios Market in the late afternoon. Love the way the warm light glows at that time of day.  Price $60.
Fussin n' Scratchin  watercolor 5"x 7"  This was fun, I have chickens and roosters that wander the area across the street from me. Always seeing them in different spots. I like the overlap with  the shade in this one. Price $60.00 contact me by email.

2014 Feb 10th Plein air at San Juan de Dios

A view of San Juan de Dios Church
Okay this is just one view of where we will be painting on Monday. This is a great site and has many interesting views to choose from.  This is one of the well known churches in town. From centro down Canal a few blocks , take a right onto San Antonio Abad and go 2 short blocks to where it meets with San Rafael. Also described as right across the street from the Warren Hardy Spanish School if you know where that is. We're meeting in the afternoon,  on location at 2pm. The afternoon light is better here.
Here's another view from across the street near the bottom of Callejon Blanco. Don't forget your camera for a reference for finishing up your plein air study. There are some benches but a folding stool is an asset if you sit when painting, it'll allow you to set up anywhere . Looks like we have a good group planning to be there. Check your check list! Hat? view finder, water?? Take care and have a good week end. Donna
