here's part of our group today at Atotonilco. A pretty tranquil morning and a challenge to paint that church!

Linda at Atotonilco Next week we will paint in town on Monday morning  so we can all get to the Tues market-La Placita as it is called. Location TBA A colorful street for sure.

A stroll through the early market Atotonilco This would have been fun to paint as well but I think it  will be cleared away when we paint on Tues. morning. Don't forget your hat and camera!  There's interesting shadows early morning. There are a few stores for water or snacks. We will meet on location  at 9:00 am. July 22/ 14 from La Trinidad Organic Farm

Lee and I painting today with Susanna in background and Tom the photographer. The road along the fields gave us good shade.

It really was a lovely morning at la Trinidad. My oil 9 x 12" Lots of color! We shared the road with some rather large mosquitoes! We bug juiced up and that seemed to ward them off. Carl the owner of the organic farm said we were the first ones to paint here. Hes been farming this land for over 25 years.

Susanna was painted another aspect looking across to the distant hills and water. A challenge all those greens! Next week we may be going out Monday morning stay tuned for location. Donna

Painting plein air on Tuesday July 22nd

plein air on last Tues. Susan, Tom and Susanna and onlookers. Hope we have good weather on Tuesday. We'll meet at the gallery entrance at 9:00 am sharp be sure to be ontime as we can't linger very long there with vehicles. Don't forget hats camera, sunscreen, water, snacks and of course all your painting gear. We will be going out to the same area as last week near La Trinidad, but we will probably be painting around the organic farm . We'll have to see what the view is like below the gardens. Let me know if you're interested as we will have to arrange transportation.

2014 July 6 "In the Studio " and New "Plein Air" class

In the studio last week visiting from Laredo, Emily and her younger sister Joyce . They had 2 classes and wanted to spend more time painting here.They hope to come again next summer.

Cat on a rock wall on my way home today. Everything is very green due to all the rain we've had.

"Morning on Salida a Queretero" oil ; 12 x 9" palette knife.  I've been working with a more textural approach lately using thick paint over a thin dark tonal background.Really enjoying this process. I have one more almost ready which I will post when finished.       +Plein air up and coming, next week ...we hope to get some painting outdoors next week Tues. July 15th...location to be announced. We'll start by meeting at the gallery at 9:am weather permitting. classes in the studio continuing WED.- wc.'s Thurs. oils and acrylics (beginners to intermediate)
and for more experienced or advanced -Friday mornings. 10 til 1pm
