New painting Xilitla June 2012 and plein air this week

Market Day Xilitla, Mex.  24 x 30" oil

This is a painting from our recent trip to Xilitla in May. The jardin was filled with people as it was Sunday Market Day in town.  So colorful and exotic . I couldn't wait to start painting some of these great scenes.

Monday plein air we will meet just off the Jardin near on the Correo /Sollano corner or there about. Weather permitting. We've had some cloudy days lately so not sure what we will encounter on Monday. June 25 2012  9:00 am . If it looks iffy we can work in the studio. Happy painting everyone!

New November 2012 Workshop north of Puerto Vallarta on the Riviera Nayarit

5 Days plein air painting from November 26th. to December 1st.

We'll be based at Rincon de Guayabitos, a very colorful, clean and safe Mexican beach resort. It's for intermediate to advanced and both Tom and I will be on hand as instructors in Oils, Watercolors and Acrylics. Hope you're free to join us - we're looking forward to a fun time at the beach!

Monday plein air June 11th 9:00 am Juarez Parque

Monday morning plein air will be across from the Santa Monica Restaurant and Hotel on the perimeter of Juarez Parque. Hope you can make it. We'll be meeting there at 9:00 am. Hats , camera, paints and all, water and a snack.
By the way our meet up paint out in Guanajuato yesterday was challenging and fun ! There's just not enough time to take it all in. So much color! Pictures coming.saludos Donna

El Chorro plein air 28 June 2012

El Chorro Monday 28th of May 9:00 til 12:00 pm
We're going to meet at the end of Barranca which becomes  calle El Chorro  near the church but before it descends down to the level of the cultural center. Try to be there at 9:00 am. I haven't a definite scene in mind we'll look around with our view finders from that location. Don't forget your camera, hat, water ,snacks etc. let me know if you don't understand the location. See you there!

The following week  Mon . June 4th plein air -a landscape just north of Atotonilco ....afternoon Meet at the gallery 1:15pm , We'll be sharing rides so let me know for sure if you'll be coming. Donna

Monday Afternoon May21st /12 Plein Air

Entrance to The San Jose Church on Cuesta de San Jose......what you don't see is the street all torn up! Oh well, inside the church yard it will be  tranquil with many opportunities to paint in the shade. It ought to be fun .
We'll meet there at 1:30. Bring a sunhat, water , snacks etc. Don't forget your camera!
This little church is located just above Calle Montitlan on the edge of Col. Balcones

Tom's plein air from Casa Capricho 9 x 12 oil A charming view!

From Casa Capricho  -Donna's  " Rooftop view " 10 x 8" Oil  This is a great, elegant home, so many views to paint . This was our 2nd plein air here . Everyone did well.

Here's our last painting location in the countryside just north of Atotonilco.

Monday May 14th 2012 plein air  on Sollano near Juarez park. 

There is shade on one side of Sollano almost in front of Toller Cranston's casa. Meet there at 9:00 am. Don't forget your camera!  A hat, water, snacks - and your paints of course! See you soon Donna

May 11 2012 A few new oils for May

El Fuente at Hospicio in San Miguel 9 x 12" oil - a pretty morning when the purple Jacaranda were bloomimg.

"Casa Azul" 8 x 10 " oil -  a sweet little place up on Cruz del pueblo

Bajando Cruz del Pueblo 9 x12" oil  -from one of our plein air painting sessions on the Feb 2012 workshop. I'm starting to get caught up again now that is tranquilo here in May.
